@truth_tesla Tesla software team is excellent even when compared to the best software companies. This is a big deal, as cars are very much computers on wheels.

@truth_tesla @veespike @HillaryClinton @Twitter Whether other senior campaign managers were aware or not is a separate question. What is *not* in question is that Sussmann charged the Clinton Campaign for his Russia hoax meeting with the FBI. @ray4tesla Did my best to warn people that LiDAR isn’t optimal for cars. Roads are designed for biological neural nets & eyes, so digital neural nets & cameras will work best. I say this even though Dragon uses LiDAR for docking with Station, so I don’t intrinsically hate that technology.

@BrianRoemmele Slightly different versions of the Tesla AI5 chip will be made at TSMC and Samsung simply because they translate designs to physical form differently, but the goal is that our AI software works identically. We will have samples and maybe a small number of units in 2026, but high

@Teslaconomics @Tesla_AI Best was working with such a great team of AI hardware & software engineers! It was more fun than going to parties on Saturdays by far. @Yuchenj_UW Andrej’s understanding is dated at this point. Tesla AI software has advanced vastly beyond what it was when he left. The intelligence density per GB of Tesla AI is at least an order of magnitude better than anything else out there.

@Teslarati @ResidentSponge It is an electronics/mechanical/software engineering problem for the Neuralink device that is similar in complexity level to smart watches (which are not easy!), plus the surgical robot, which is comparable to state-of-the art CNC machines. No need for AI/ NN/ML quite yet.

@vincent13031925 @JonErlichman I put in my last money, even though I thought we would still fail. But, it was either that or certain death for Tesla. @ray4tesla Some of them are indeed doing so – we’re well aware. Part of the value of having our own hardware is that our software will only run on that specific hardware, warts & all. As with Apple, you can’t just copy the code or unpack the binaries. You need their hardware too.

@DimaZeniuk @truth_tesla That’s a low bar. Carmakers have never valued software engineering highly, although VW is trying to change that. I personally wrote software for 20 years & have huge respect for software engineers. Tesla is on par with best software companies & is leader in real world AI.

@ajtourville Important to note that we also use the Tesla HW4 AI computer in the training loop with Nvidia GPUs, currently at roughly a 1:2 ratio. Also, we’re changing the name from Hardware 4 (HW4) to Artificial Intelligence 4 (AI4). That means ~90k H100, plus ~40k AI4 computers.
