@teslaownersSV Starship V4 will have 42 engines when 3 more Raptors are added to a significantly longer ship. That will fly in 2027. Starship V3 is a massive upgrade from the current V2 and should be through production and testing by end of year, with heavy flight activity next year.

@niccruzpatane Looks like we can bring power consumption down closer to 250 Watts, which is a big deal for Optimus. Important to note that AI5 is a specialized inference chip for the Tesla AI software. That said, it will perform – for our purposes – much better than anything else available.

@ray4tesla Some of them are indeed doing so – we’re well aware. Part of the value of having our own hardware is that our software will only run on that specific hardware, warts & all. As with Apple, you can’t just copy the code or unpack the binaries. You need their hardware too.

@DimaZeniuk @truth_tesla That’s a low bar. Carmakers have never valued software engineering highly, although VW is trying to change that. I personally wrote software for 20 years & have huge respect for software engineers. Tesla is on par with best software companies & is leader in real world AI.

We would’ve lost at least a few talented people if he was the real deal, but we lost no one.

@teslaownersSV I might be getting to the point where I’ve overseen the construction of a wider range of manufacturing systems than anyone. Managing a global supply chain is also very difficult and underrated. Tactics wins battles, but logistics (supply chain) wins wars.
