@thejefflutz No, because this is the current peak speed per beam and the beams are large, so this system is only effective where there is no existing cellular service. This service works in partnership with wireless providers, like what @SpaceX and @TMobile announced.

@visegrad24 Space is hard. Took @SpaceX 4 tries to reach orbit. They can probably do it in fewer. But then it gets vastly harder to achieve truly useful reusability. Only SpaceX has ever done that.

@SemiAnalysis_ @BrentM_SpaceX 😉 Still small fry at 1GW. For serious power in the 100GW continuous range (~1/5 of USA average power consumption), it probably needs to be solar/battery powered. At 1TW+, solar/battery is the only realistic option.
