Nevada Alexander Musk was born in May 2002 to Elon and Justine Musk. He died of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at approximately 10 weeks of age, in July 2002. The loss was devastating for both parents. In her 2010 Marie Claire essay, Justine described how Elon grieved by returning immediately to work, a response she found difficult to process at the time. Elon has mentioned Nevada very rarely in public; in a 2017 Rolling Stone interview he became visibly emotional when the subject came up.
